  • National Poetry Month - day 30

    1) wood dragon

    Mexico City

    is calling

    her music

    as steamy as her jungles

    where did it take you?

    2) takes me home

    where my heart should be

    wanderlust

    drives me hard

out on the road where I live

    out where I find love

    3)Kerouac

    been quite a journey

    the sax man

    has mellowed

but his song pours out like sweat

    we're soaking it up

    4) this journey

    will continue to

    uncover

    new stories

I will listen for new songs

    and give them my voice

    5) a road trip

    don't count the miles

    count the words

    write them down

roll down the window and sing

    don't stop for anything

  • National Poetry Month - day 29

    1) In to win

I play for her heart to win

my price to pay is heavy

but I am in for the win

    2) In to win

do not tell me it is a sin

to pay this price for her heart

this I will pay for the win

    3 In to win

    let this foolish game begin

open the door to your heart

for we both play to win

    4 In to win

    let us celebrate with kin

    family and friends to adore

for we all play for the win

  • National Poetry Month - day 28

    another day

    can say the heat

    is beating him

    down. shimmering

    waves sing sleepy

    songs. he's snoring.

  • National Poetry Month - day 27

    a rising star

    goes far tonight

    its light I see

    will be arching

    marking midnight

    then fights back sleep

    that creeps away

    a day begins

  • National Poetry Month - day 26

I grow tired of traffic and noise

    and of silence that annoys

where are the songs that rejoice?

  • National Poetry Month - day 25

    it was cast away

    forlorn hope of one's escape

    a ninja star's life

  • National Poetry Month - day 24.1

    in the ocean

    ashen-faced men

    will ken their lives

    the knives of fate

    abate mercy

  • National Poetry Month - day 24

    weather-beaten

    huntsmen of York

    uncork bottles

    damsels serve them

    mayhem ensues

  • National Poetry Month - day 23

I dropped a coin in the wishing well

wondering if a dime could come true

its the thing to do when thoughts are about you

and honestly what more can I do?

  • National Poetry Month - day 22

they told me to follow my dream

to see where it would lead

so I followed it down a stream

where many a heart did bleed

and nothing is ever as it seems

in places where the moonlight gleams
